The Mansion
Enjoy an elegance lovingly preserved for you and your guest inside the Whitehall mansion. This 19th century antebellum home in Louisville, KY offers grandeur, grace and style, making it the perfect setting for your special event. Whitehall’s interior reflects the home as it was in 1909 with wall coverings, carpets and antiques reminiscent of the period.
Whitehall’s historic mansion is an ideal location for rehearsal dinners, birthdays, anniversaries, and holiday parties. The mansion’s open floor plan allows great flexibility and creativity for any occasion. The mansion’s first floor can accommodate up to 100 guests for a cocktail style party and up to 75 guests for a seated dinner. A spacious double-parlor can accommodate a small combo or DJ for dancing.
Whitehall’s mansion is fully-air conditioned and boasts a large catering kitchen and ample restroom facilities on both the first and second floor of the house.
The Gardens
Whitehall’s spacious gardens and grounds, which may be rented in addition to the mansion, make an impressive presentation for outdoor events. Whitehall’s Garden Terrace, adjacent to the Formal Garden, provides both a beautiful and convenient surface for events, whether open-air or tented, and can accommodate up to approximately 250 guests for seated dinner.
For more intimate occasions for fewer guests, clients may choose to host their event within Whitehall’s elegant Formal Garden, featuring terraces, breathtaking hydrangeas and interesting architectural details. The Ramsey Terrace, Whitehall’s newest garden feature, offers an unprecedented view of the enchanting Specimen Garden.
Convenient outdoor restroom facilities, fully air-conditioned and heated, are available to guests as part of the rental of the grounds and gardens.
Memorial Services
Whitehall’s tranquil environment also offers a comforting venue for memorial and funeral services. The mansion can accommodate up to 125 guests for a standing-style reception and up to 75 guests for a seated dinner.
Rules and Other Information
Rental of Whitehall includes 75 white resin folding chairs with padded seats [indoor use only]. Additional items may be rented from Rental Depot. Caterers must be selected from Whitehall’s list of Approved Vendors.
The preservation of Whitehall's mansion and gardens must be the first consideration of staff in all activities taking place on this historic property.
